Earlier this month, a MySpace spokesperson allegedly reported that the website is ready for “a new owner.” The company that currently owns MySpace reportedly purchased the site in 2005 for approximately $580 million.
Over the past 12 months, MySpace has been completely redesigned and has made other significant modifications in the website and to the company as a whole. The site now seems to place greater emphasis on media rather than intrinsically on social networking.
But will MySpace’s new design attract more interested buyers?
Perhaps more importantly, what will the introduction of a new owner mean for current MySpace login members? The eventual sale of the MySpace social networking website could undoubtedly result in more modifications to the website in the near future.
